Vice-President of the Friends of Chopin Australia, Mrs Wanda Horky, has been awarded with the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Australia Day Honours List for her services to the Polish community in Australia, including with the Friends of Chopin Australia.
Wanda’s contribution to the Polish-Australian community over many decades has been dedicated, tireless, and substantial, and most recently with the Friends of Chopin Australia, passionate and energetic. Wanda brings a love for Poland and Polish culture, and a love for the Polish-Australian community in Australia to everything she does, and also a deep connection to the music of Fryderyk Chopin and a desire to share this connection widely and introduce new generations to his music.
