Chopin’s Birthday Celebration

Kotaro Nagano programmed a recital in two halves at the Australian National University School of Music. The first half celebrated music composed in Chopin’s birth year 1810 (Dussek, Beethoven, Hummel, Kuhlau). The second half celebrated the genius of Chopin and the sound of the Pleyel piano. The recital opened with a specially composed variation on ‘Happy Birthday’ in the style of Chopin by Kotaro.
